Important Information Regarding Yellow Fever
Please note that there is an exception to the general vaccination requirement for entry into Tanzania. If you are from or have recently visited a country that is considered at-risk for Yellow Fever, you will be required to provide proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination upon entry to Tanzania. However, if you do not have this vaccination, you may obtain it upon arrival as you pass through immigration.
It’s worth noting that Yellow Fever vaccination has been a strict requirement for many years and continues to be the most commonly requested vaccination for entry into Tanzania. If you have not recently visited an at-risk country for Yellow Fever, then you do not need to provide proof of vaccination
Tanzania Vaccination Requirements: Covid vaccines
If you have received a COVID-19 vaccine, it is mandatory to present a certificate of immunization upon arrival in Tanzania. However, if you have not been vaccinated, you may instead provide proof of a negative PCR test result. In such cases, it is necessary that the PCR test was conducted no more than 72 hours prior to your arrival in Tanzania
Tanzania Vaccination Requirements: measures to Prevent Malaria
If you are planning an extended stay in areas of Tanzania where the risk of contracting malaria is high, it is advisable to take precautions against this mosquito-borne disease. These measures are typically recommended for individuals planning long-term travel across Africa, rather than just one country, or for those intending to reside and work in Tanzania.
Additionally, some travelers who are going on a safari, mountain climbing, or beach holiday in Tanzania may consider taking medication to prevent malaria. This is a sensible precaution to ensure that an unfortunate mosquito bite does not spoil your vacation
