When is the best time to visit Tanzania? +

The best time is the dry season from June to October, but the green season from January to March is beautiful for witnessing animal births.

What are the best safari parks? +

The Northern trio is a must: Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. For a more exclusive experience, Southern parks like Nyerere or Ruaha are exceptional.

Can you combine safari and Zanzibar? +

Absolutely! This is a very popular combination. A domestic flight easily connects safari areas to Zanzibar Island for a relaxing end to your trip.

Is it possible to see the Big 5 in Tanzania? +

Yes, Tanzania is one of the best destinations in the world to see the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros), especially in Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.

What is the nearest airport? +

For starting a Northern safari, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is ideal. For a Zanzibar stay, Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) is the main gateway.

As you approach the endless plains, you’ll feel the vastness of this unique ecosystem. Your Serengeti safari begins as soon as you enter the park. The roof of your 4x4 stays open so you don’t miss any of the constant wildlife action. Your expert guide will lead you to the central Seronera region, famous for its high concentration of predators. Serengeti: In the Realm of the Big Cats

These days in the Serengeti will be dedicated to an in-depth exploration of the Seronera region. Nicknamed the "predator capital," this valley is an incredibly rich ecosystem that guarantees exceptional wildlife sightings year-round, regardless of the Great Migration.

Your expert guide will use their experience to track lion prides lounging on the "kopjes," those rocky outcrops overlooking the savannah. You will scan the acacia branches for the stealthy silhouette of a leopard and admire the elegance of cheetahs. Of course, this quest for the big cats will be punctuated by encounters with giraffes, buffalo, and hippos. A picnic enjoyed in the shade of an acacia will complete this day of total immersion.

You will plunge 600 meters deep into the world’s largest intact caldera, a unique ecosystem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This safari inside the Ngorongoro Crater is an extraordinary experience: on a limited area, an exceptional density of wildlife coexists. It is one of the best places on the planet to see the Big 5 in a single day, with excellent chances to encounter the highly protected black rhinoceros. A picnic lunch by Lake Magadi, home to flamingos, will add a magical touch to this unforgettable Tanzanian safari.

During your days, the magnificent beaches of Zanzibar are yours to enjoy, with their flour-fine sand and waters displaying an incredible gradient of blues. This free day in Zanzibar is yours to spend as you please: lounge on a sunbed with a good book, swim in the warm, crystal-clear waters, or take a long walk along the shore while watching the "dhows," traditional boats gliding on the horizon. The schedule is free and yours to create: a final swim in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, a nap under a coconut tree, or searching for the most beautiful shell during a long walk on the warm sand.

In the late afternoon, don’t miss the daily yet always unique spectacle of the Zanzibar sunset. Get comfortable, feet in the sand with a fresh fruit cocktail, and watch the sky ignite with fiery colors. In summary: Which season should you choose?

For optimal wildlife viewing, the long dry season of June to October is unmatched. The vegetation is low and the animals congregate near water sources, making safaris particularly fruitful.

For lush green landscapes and the magic of new life, the period of January to March is exceptional, particularly in the southern Serengeti (Ndutu). This is the ideal time for photographers and for observing the intense activity of predators.

To avoid the crowds and enjoy attractive rates, the rainy seasons (March to May and November-December) transform the landscape into a lush garden. These periods offer a more intimate experience of Tanzania.

Prepare Your Travel Documents

Organizing your documents is a key step. Here is the essential information you need to prepare with peace of mind.

Passport

Make sure your passport is valid for at least6 months after your return date planned. It must also include at least two consecutive blank pages.

Electronic Visa (e-Visa) - The Recommended Option

A visa is required. The easiest and safest method is to apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) before your departure. The cost is **US$50**.

Our advice : Apply at least 3 weeks before your departure to avoid any stress. Only use the official government website.

Access the Official e-Visa Website

Visa on Arrival - The Alternative

It is possible to obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport, but we do not recommend it. The wait can be long, and payment must often be made in US dollars (please have the exact amount ready). Applying online guarantees a much smoother arrival.

Health & Vaccines: Our Recommendations

Your health and safety are our priority. The information below is provided for informational purposes only. We strongly recommend that you consult your doctor or an international vaccination center at least 4 to 6 weeks before your departure.

⚠ Yellow Fever : The yellow fever vaccine is not mandatory for travelers coming from Europe. It is only mandatory if you have transited for more than 12 hours in a country where the disease is endemic (e.g., Kenya, Ethiopia, etc.).

Recommended Vaccines

  • Update on universal vaccines (diphtheria, tetanus, and polio).
  • Hepatitis A and typhoid fever (related to food and water).
  • Hepatitis B.

Malaria

Malaria is present in Tanzania. Treatmentantimalarial (prophylaxis) is strongly recommended. Protect yourself from mosquito bites with repellents suitable for tropical areas, long clothing in the evening, and a mosquito net (provided in all good accommodations).

Suggested First Aid Kit

Remember to bring a small travel first aid kit with your personal medications, anti-diarrhea medication, antiseptic, bandages, pain reliever (paracetamol), and high SPF sunscreen.
